In June 1993, Warrant Officer Roch Lanteigne was serving in Somalia.
During an enemy attack against the harbour facilities in the capital city of Mogadishu, Lanteigne risked his life to supply members of his platoon with much-needed ammunition.
Three times, he braved sustained fire as he went from group to group, returning to his own bunker only after he had completely resupplied them all.
For his impressive courage, Lanteigne was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

There’s absolutely no evidence that he was awarded the Order of St John nor the Medal of Bravery. He was named to the Order of New Brunswick in December 2020 however, he was quietly dropped from the list of recipients after it became apparent that there were significant issues with his medallic entitlement.
Nor is there any evidence of him being awarded the UN Emergency Force II Medal, the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal or the Canada 125th Medal. His claims being awarded the St John Ambulance Gold Lifesaving Medal is also problematic…

Was Lanteigne a victim of a series of administrative errors spanning several decades or was it something more sinister?

So, the question becomes – Is this much more than a “simple resignation” from the ORMM?
What additional medals in play?

Updated 12 Nov 2025.
Long time followers of our media platforms may remember when we first exposed ex MWO Lanteigne as a massive embellisher. SVC was vilified for tarnishing his service and career accomplishments, public apologies were demanded while others wanted us charged for defamation…
Notwithstanding the Old Wolf’s significant service accomplishments, the reality is that he fraudulently wore 6 medals including the Medal of Bravery and the Order of St John while a serving member of the CF,
His membership in the Order of New Brunswick was rescinded, and
He voluntarily resigned from the Order of Military Merit in what was likely a preemptive move to avoid being stripped of the Order.
If you believe that his shameful actions are a recent occurrence, he’s was claiming to be a recipient of the Medal of Bravery over a dozen years ago. The pictured monument in Caraquet, NB was put in place in 2012 and he contributed to its placement.

Ex MWO Rock Lanteigne resigned from the Order of Military Merit in 2022 after being exposed as an embellisher by SVC and presumedly he returned the insignia to the Chancellery.
So, why would he be wearing an obvious copy of a Member of the Order of Military Merit (MMM) at Remembrance Day Services November 2025 in Caraquet, New Brunswick?
Why was he doing so in 2023 and 2024? *

The six medals (Order of St John, Medal of Bravery, UN Emergency Force II, Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal (1977), Canada 125th and the St John Gold Lifesaving Medal) that he wore without lawful authority have disappeared from his group however, a US Army Commendation Medal which has never been authorized for wear alongside Canadian awards has been added.

It’s now time for the Chancellery to drop this hammer on this individual regarding the unlawful wear of the MMM.
The NB RCMP should immediately initiate an investigation in regard to his unlawful wear of a national level award with the objective of laying a criminal charge under S419 CCC.
The Legion should revisit their stolen valour policy to exclude known stolen valourists from membership in their organization.
