Iain MANN – More nerve than a toothache!

Mr Iain MANN is a serial military fantasist / stolen valourist whose medallic fuckery™️was first investigated by the Military Police in 2019, several months after an event at Woseley Barracks in London, Ontario.

Mann was then a snare dummer parading with the Black Watch Association Pipes & Drums while wearing medals and insignia that he had no lawful entitlement to. A formal complaint made to the Military Police was initiated by a now retired officer of The Black Watch (RHR) of Canada. Unfortunately, Mr Mann escaped criminal charges as the 6 month limit, as existed at that time, from the alleged event to charges being laid had expired. However, Mann was advised to cease and desist his reprehensible actions.

However, he didn’t!

Mann appeared at the Warriors Day Parade 2023 which is held annually in Toronto. He presented himself as a disabled Canadian Airborne Regiment (CAR) veteran wearing a maroon beret and jump smock with parachutist wings, Pathfinder torch and US jump wings.

Last year, he was confronted by CAR veterans and punted from the Airborne Forces Association marching contingent at the 2024 Warriors Day Parade on 17 August 2024.

Mann, who rolled up just prior to the group stepping off, was wearing the hat badge worn by the First Canadian Parachute Battalion (1942-45). When questioned, he was doing it to honour the memory of the unit…

He again sported 6 medals on his maroon blazer and was “assisted” by a “service dog”.

We’ve hidden the dog’s identity in order to protect it from any further embarrassment.

The date is important, as s419 of the Criminal Code, which was revised in July 2019, now has a 12 month window from the alleged offence to charges being laid.

SVC is of the opinion that it’s now time for the Toronto Police Service to investigate this individual who is pretending to be a disabled veteran and test the new Ontario “stolen valour” legislation.

What else do we know?

Mann is not listed on the GG’s web site as a medal recipient.
He isn’t carried on the nominal rolls of the CAR nor The RCR. The earlier investigation into his activities revealed that he has absolutely no service in the CAF and therefore, never an infantryman, parachutist or pathfinder…

However, he was a civilian volunteer drummer in many GTA pipe bands from the early 1980s onwards. That is something he should taken some pride in but he had to go full potato with his claims of military service.

SVC has attempted to contact him via email and provide him with opportunity to determine his truth.

He’s now placed himself on radio silence… 31 March 2025
